The Government Pharmaceutical Organization (GPO) has received an industrial award for excellence in performance and innovation “Best Bioprocessing Excellence in South East Asia” for its excellent production process of Biological product in Asia Pacific for the third consecutive year.

On March 16, 2021, Dr. Withoon Danwiboon, GPO Managing Director received "Best Bioprocessing Excellence in South East Asia" Award from The 8th Annual Biologics Manufacturing Asia 2021, through online seminar organized by IMAPAC, Singapore.

This is the third time since GPO received its first and second of the same award in 2017 and 2020, respectively. The award recognizes the outstanding performance and innovation of Industry in Biological product production process in the Asia Pacific region where this year, GPO performs superior innovation achievement by adapting its influenza vaccine production technology for COVID-19 vaccine production. Currently, GPO is on the process of requesting permission to conduct human trial from Thai FDA and expects to gear up for first phase trial in this upcoming March 22.
